Sun, 30 Nov 2008 23:24:17 PST- Tulane Football head coach Bob Toledo didn't hold back when assessing the 2008 season, which ended with an eight-game losing streak.
"It's the worst football season I've ever been associated with, and one I don't want to repeat," Toledo, 6-18 after two seasons, told the Times-Picayune. "It's really painful to see us play like we're playing. All I know is that we just go back to work and try again."
The Green Wave (2-10, 1-7 C-USA) matched the school record for losses in a season set in 1962 and tied in 1985, 1991 and 1994. A season that began by holding current No. 1 Alabama to 172 yards of offense and a near-miss against bowl-bound East Carolina ended with back-to-back blowouts at Tulsa (56-7) and Memphis (45-6). Tulane Football was 11th in C-USA in scoring (16.7 points per game)...

Tarrion Adams ran for a school record 323 yards and a touchdown as Tulsa ended a two-game losing streak by beating Tulane Football 56-7 on Saturday. The Golden Hurricane (9-2, 6-1 Conference USA) piled up a season-high 489 rushing yards, and Adams, a senior playing his final home game, surpassed the 312 yards Mark Brus rushed for in a 1990 game at New Mexico State.

GAME OF THE YEAR: Alabama 20, Tulane Football 6 -- After being forced out of town by the threat of Hurricane Gustav, the Green Wave managed to give the Crimson Tide one of its toughest games of the year on Sept. 6 in Tuscaloosa. Tulane Football sacked John Parker Wilson four times and held Alabama to 172 yards of offense, just 38 in the second half.
Mon, 01 Dec 2008 06:21:01 GMT- PLAYERS TO WATCH IN 2009:
QB Kevin Moore -- The sophomore passed for more than 200 yards in each of his first five games, but reached that mark only once in the last seven contests while tossing more interceptions (seven) than touchdowns (two).
WR Jeremy Williams -- A broken hand and season-ending knee surgery cut short a nice start by the junior, who had 27 catches for 437 yards (16.2-yard average) and five TDs in the first five games.
